We use your information to: provide and maintain our services including the Downriver Trades marketplace, respond to your inquiries and service requests, facilitate connections between homeowners and contractors through the Downriver Trades app, process contractor subscription payments through our payment processor (Stripe), deliver push notifications about messages, job requests, and account activity, improve our website, mobile applications, and service offerings, comply with legal obligations, and communicate important updates about our services.
3. Downriver Trades Mobile Application
The Downriver Trades app connects homeowners with local contractors in the Downriver Michigan area. The following applies specifically to the mobile application:
Account Data: We store your account information securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Your authentication credentials are encrypted and managed through Supabase Auth.
Payment Processing: Contractor subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.
Push Notifications: We use Expo Push Notification services to deliver notifications about new messages, job requests, and account activity. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or in the app.
Photos: Photos you upload for your profile or job listings are stored securely using Supabase Storage.
Messages: In-app messages between homeowners and contractors are stored in our database and are only accessible to the participants of each conversation.
Reviews: Reviews and ratings you submit are publicly visible on contractor profiles within the app.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our business (such as Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payment processing, and Expo for push notifications), when required by law or to protect our legal rights, and in connection with a business transfer or merger. Contractor profiles, including business name, trades, service areas, and reviews, are shared publicly within the Downriver Trades app as part of the marketplace functionality.
